  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground clove
  • ¼ tsp all spice
  • ¼ tsp cardamom
  • ¼ tsp ground powdered ginger
  • 1 egg
  • 100 ml yoghurt
  • 50 ml milk
  • 50 g butter

For the Icing

  • 400 g icing sugar
  • 2 tbsp warm water
  • ½ tsp cinnamon

For the Cocoa Icing Drips

  • 2 tbsp cocoa
  • 4 tsp powdered egg white
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions

For the Donuts

  • Preheat the oven to 160°C (320F). Prepare the donut pan.
  • In a large bowl measure together all the dry ingredients. Melt the butter in a small pot. In a separate bowl combine together all the wet ingredients. Add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix using a spoon. Add melted butter and mix together until incorporated.
  • Place a piping bag inside a large jar or a tall jug with a matching diameter, wrap the edges of the piping bag around the jar and secure with an elastic band. Using a spoon, transfer all dough inside the piping bag. Take the bag off the jar and start piping the dough in circles into the donut pan.
  • Bake on a middle rack of the pre-heated oven for 15 minutes. Take out of the oven and cool before dipping in the icing sugar.

For the Icing

  • Place a sheet of parchment paper on a table and rest cooling rack on top of it. Mix all the Icing Sugar ingredients together, dip the donuts in and set them aside on a cooling rack. Now, mix all the Cocoa Icing Drips ingredients together. Using a tablespoon gently drip the cocoa mix all over the donuts. Leave for approx. 30 minutes to set. Serve on a plate, piled one on top of another. Enjoy!
